The Most Trusted Certification in the Air Systems Industry
Market requirements for air systems are continuously evolving. To ensure the most efficient path to product testing, inspection, certification, and assurance, manufacturers and stakeholders worldwide turn to AMCA International’s Certified Ratings Program (CRP).
Key Aspects of Air Systems Certification
Performance Testing
- Products are tested in independent laboratories that follow strict guidelines to ensure consistency and accuracy in testing conditions and methodologies.
- Performance data such as airflow, sound levels, power consumption, and efficiency are measured against the AMCA’s standards.
Certification Program
- The AMCA Certified Ratings Program ensures products meet designated standards through periodic checks and retesting.
- The program covers various product categories and performance ratings to ensure the integrity and reliability of certified products.
The Air System Industry’s Seal of Approval
- Products that successfully meet the certification process are allowed to carry the AMCA Seal. This seal is widely recognized in the industry and indicates that a product has been tested and meets the specified AMCA standards for performance and reliability. When you see an AMCA Seal, it’s a green light that an air control product will perform as promised.
Proven Assurance
To ensure the integrity and value of CRP, AMCA has in place several strict protocols:
- AMCA is accredited through the American Association for Laboratory of Accreditation (A2LA) in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and 17065 testing and calibration. Learn more about our accreditation scope and certificates 2477-01 and 2477.02.
- All testing is performed at an AMCA-accredited independent laboratory.
- The requirement that all testing and certification be performed in accordance with AMCA-approved testing/rating standards and operating manuals.
- Certified product search database on the AMCA website.
- Reporting of program violations on the AMCA website.
- Monitoring of participants’ websites, catalogs, and advertisements for accuracy.
- A product line undergoes periodic check testing at an AMCA-accredited independent laboratory.
- The allowance of public challenges to certifications.
Eligibility
Manufacturing companies that regularly design, fabricate, assemble, and sell a product(s) within the AMCA air systems product scope are eligible for AMCA CRP. Participation in the program is voluntary.

Why Certification Matters
Quality Assurance
AMCA certifications provide an independent verification of a product’s performance claims. This assures engineers, architects, contractors, and end-users that the certified products will perform as stated by the manufacturer. It removes uncertainties about the efficacy and capabilities of products, leading to more reliable and efficient systems.
Market Trust
For manufacturers, obtaining the AMCA seal signifies that their products have met stringent testing standards for performance and quality. Products with AMCA certification can stand out in a crowded market, building trust with buyers and specifiers.
Product Comparability
AMCA certification provides a standardized methodology for testing and rating, making it easier for specifiers and consumers to compare products on a like-for-like basis. This helps in selecting the most appropriate and efficient products for specific applications, ensuring optimal system performance.
Global Recognition
AMCA’s certification is recognized internationally, enabling manufacturers to compete more effectively in global markets. It also provides a common language of performance standards, which is particularly important in multinational projects and specifications.
Industry Standards Development
AMCA plays a role in developing industry standards for performance testing, bringing together experts from various fields to ensure that standards stay current with technological advances and industry needs. This forward-looking approach helps to drive innovation and efficiency in air system design and products.
Environmental Health
By ensuring that air movement and control products meet high performance and reliability standards, AMCA certifications contribute to more sustainable, and energy-efficient environments. Improved air quality and ventilation directly impact public health and well-being.
